Town of Wickenburg Police Department offers full testing services for the position of Police Officer through National Testing Network (NTN). To register with NTN and schedule a test, go to www.nationaltestingnetwork.com, select ‘Find Jobs’, then select Law Enforcement Jobs and sign up for Wickenburg, Town of - Police.
When you visit the www.nationaltestingnetwork.com website:
• Complete the NTN registration process and schedule your test. Review all information related to the Wickenburg Police Department – Police Officer, including applications to complete and supporting documents, minimum requirements, salary, and benefits.
• Review detailed information about the testing process.
• Review the Frequently Asked Questions and take an online practice test (if desired).
Upon completion of your scheduled exam, scores are automatically forwarded to Wickenburg Police Department. Candidates who attain a passing score on the entry level exam will be placed on Wickenburg Police Department eligibility list. Wickenburg Police Department will contact candidates on the list and will invite them to participate in further stages of the selection process.
National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National Testing Network does not replace the Wickenburg Police Department’s responsibility and decision making in the testing process. All candidate results are provided to Wickenburg Police Department where the final decisions are made.
STEP 1 | Register with National Testing Network. You must submit applications and supporting documents.
1. AZ Post: Candidates will be required to create an account with AZPOST to complete this application. Candidates will be required to "share" the application with the department by searching "Wickenburg PD." Upon submitting the finalized application a "Form ID #" will be displayed. The Form ID # needs to be provided with application submittal. Link: https://my.azpost.gov/.

Supporting Documentation: HS Diploma or G.E.D, Proof of Citizenship, Form DD 214 (military personnel only).
STEP 2 | Schedule your test with National Testing Network. Upon completion of your scheduled exam, scores are forwarded to the Department.
STEP 3 | Physical Testing.
Non-Certified: Cooper Physical Testing age & gender neutral, the physical assessment exam consists of a 1.5 mile run in 14:40 minutes or less; a minimum of 34 sit-ups in one minute and a minimum of 31 push-ups in one minute. Each area is a pass/fails component.
Certified: Peace Officer Physical Aptitude Test (POPAT) age & gender neutral, obstacles include: 99-yard obstacle course, body drag, chain-link fence, solid fence climb and a 500-yard run. To pass you must achieve an aggregate score of 384 or greater.
If a candidate fails, the physical testing they are eligible to repeat it in a 0-6-month period. If failed a second time, they will be required to wait 6-months from fail date prior to retesting.
STEP 4 | Oral Board Interview. The most qualified applicants after the initial testing will be invited to an Oral Board Interview.
STEP 5 | Staff Review for Conditional Offer. Upon successful completion of steps 1 through 4 of the Employment Process, applicants may receive a conditional offer with the police department. This is not a final job offer. Applicants will have to successfully complete the next two steps prior to receiving a final offer.
STEP 6 | Background Interview & Investigation. The most qualified applicants will be contacted by a police department background investigator via email, mail, and/or telephone to be scheduled for a background interview. The background investigation is ongoing and will progress throughout the entire hiring process.
STEP 7 | Polygraph. The most qualified applicants will be given a polygraph examination (lie detector test) administered by a trained, professional examiner. The test will confirm information noted on the applicant's background investigation packet.
STEP 8 | Psychological. Test Applicants will be evaluated by a licensed psychologist.
STEP 9 | Medical Examination. Applicants will undergo a complete medical examination administered by an AZPOST certified physician.
STEP 10 | Staff Review for Final Offer of Employment. Upon successful completion of the entire employment process, applicants may receive a final offer of employment. All final appointments will be made by the Chief of Police.
Please note: The average length of time to process a successful applicant is three to five months, however, it can take longer. Keep in mind that applications are valid for one year from date of receipt.
If you have submitted an application and are no longer under consideration you will be notified via email, mail and/or telephone when and if you are able to re-apply. If you have not been contacted you are still under consideration.
Candidates who meet AZPOST qualifications will be invited to the Physical Assessment Test. Invited applicants will be notified via email, mail, and/or telephone.
Based on the needs of the Wickenburg Police Department, steps in this process may be scheduled in a different order and/or removed from the process entirely.
